Installing Both Rear Silencers

Information 

• The help of another person is required for removing and installing the silencer. 

Information 

• The seals and lock nuts must always be replaced when removing and installing the silencer.

1-6  Tightening sequence for exhaust system

1. Position both rear silencers in installation position.
   1. 1.1 Position clamps in installation position.

   Only for vehicles with exhaust flaps: 

2. Connect vacuum hose -3  - for exhaust flap.
   1. 2.1 Attach vacuum hose -3  - to the control box -5  -.
   2. 2.2 Fasten clamp -4  -.

3. Attach rear silencer to the two-hole flange.
   1. 3.1 Position new metal seal on the two-hole flange.
   2. 3.2 Fit new lock nuts -1  - on the two-hole flange and tighten to > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)  .

4. Tighten screws -1  - on the clamps -2  - to > Tightening torque 15 Nm (11.1 ftlb.)  .
