Removing Exhaust System

Information 

• Pre-treat corroded components with anti-rust agent or heat.

1. Rear silencer, bank 4-6
2. Clamp
3. Rear silencer, bank 1-3
4. Clamp
5. Tailpipe cover, 2.5 litre
6. Tailpipe cover, 2.0 litre
7. Holder for rear silencer on Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
8. Screws, M10 x 25
9. Holder for rear silencer on manual transmission
10. Screw, M8 x 20
11. M8 collar nut - replace

1. Vehicles with sports exhaust system:  Disconnect vacuum line -3  - at the control box.
   1. 1.1 Replace hose clamp -4  -.

2. Loosen flange screws for rear silencer pipe -1  - going to the catalytic converter and cross tube.
   1. 2.1 Screw off M8 collar nuts -2  -.
   2. 2.2 Replace collar nuts!

3. Loosen restraining straps on the rear silencers.
   1. 3.1 Unscrew screws on restraining straps and remove restraining straps.
   2. 3.2 Replace restraining strap! 

   Information 

   • The help of another person is required when removing and installing the exhaust system. 
4. Remove the exhaust system with the help of another person.
   1. 4.1 Replace flange gaskets!
