Removing Exhaust System

Information
- Pre-treat corroded components with anti-rust agent or heat.
Component overview:
- Rear silencer, bank 4-6
- Clamp
- Rear silencer, bank 1-3
- Clamp
- Tailpipe cover, 2.5 litre
- Tailpipe cover, 2.0 litre
- Holder for rear silencer on Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)
- Screws, M10 x 25
- Holder for rear silencer on manual transmission
- Screw, M8 x 20
- M8 collar nut - replace
- Vehicles with sports exhaust system:
Disconnect vacuum line -3
- at the control box.
- 1.1 Replace hose clamp -4 -.
- Loosen flange screws for rear silencer pipe -1
- going to the catalytic converter and cross tube.
- 2.1 Screw off M8 collar nuts -2 -.
- 2.2 Replace collar nuts!
- Loosen restraining straps on the rear silencers.
- 3.1 Unscrew screws on restraining straps and remove restraining straps.
- 3.2 Replace restraining strap!

- The help of another person is required when removing and installing the exhaust system.
- Remove the exhaust system with the help of another person.
- 4.1 Replace flange gaskets!
