Installing Clutch

Information

A commercially available socket, for example, is ideal as a spacer.

Clean the friction surfaces of the flywheel and clutch pressure plate.
Information

Surfaces of friction linings must be free from contamination, especially oil and grease.
Position drive plate in the guide sleeve using > 3176 - centering mandrel.
Information

The fastening screws on the clutch cover must be tightened in several steps and in diagonally opposite sequence in order to prevent deformation of the clutch pressure plate.
Install clutch cover with pressure plate -2- .
1. 3.1 Use new fastening screws.
2. 3.2 Fit clutch cover with pressure plate -2- and tighten fastening screws -1- crosswise and in several steps.
3. 3.3 Tighten fastening screws -1- crosswise. > Initial tightening 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
4. 3.4 Tighten fastening screws -1- crosswise. > Torque angle 60 Grad
Coupling
Remove centering mandrel.
>9538/1 - Toothed segment-1- must be removed from the engine flange.
