Subsequent Work
- Risk of squashing or crushing
- Risk of damage to the vehicle
- → Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.
- → Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.
- → Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.
- → Raise the vehicle only at the jacking points provided.
- → The outer jacking points should be used primarily.
- Tighten screws and nuts securing engine mount and side panel to body.
- 1.1 M12 collar nut for engine mount:
Initial tightening: > Initial tightening 40 Nm (30 ftlb.)
Final tightening: > Final tightening torque angle 90 Grad
- 1.2 M10 collar nut for side panel: > Tightening torque 65 Nm (47.9 ftlb.)
- 1.3 Initial tightening for screw M10 x 80 on side panel: > initial tightening 30 Nm (22.1 ftlb.)
- 1.4 Final tightening for screw M10 x 80 on side panel: > final tightening + 90°
- 1.1 M12 collar nut for engine mount:
- Secure transmission mount to side panel.
- 2.1 Screws and M8 collar nuts: > Tightening torque 33 Nm (24.3 ftlb.)
- Connect coolant hose to the coolant collection unit.
- Secure diagonal arm.
- 4.1 Fit and tighten M12 screws (right side with heat shield -1- ).
- 4.2 Initial tightening: > Initial tightening 80 Nm (59 ftlb.)
- 4.3 Final tightening torque angle: > Final tightening + 60°
Fitting protective plate
- Fit vacuum line for transmission mount.
- Connect cable plug for transmission wire harness, adaptive transmission mounts (if fitted) and sensors for headlight levelling system.
- Secure ground strap to body or engine.
- 7.1 M8 screw:
Threaded joint on cylinder head:> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
Threaded joint on body: > Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- 7.1 M8 screw:
- Fit plug connections for oxygen sensors.
- Install strut -1-

- 9.1 Tighten M10 screws -2-
.
> Tightening torque 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)

- Oxygen sensor connector (blue cable) on cylinder bank 1-2
- Regulating sensor connector (black cable)
- 9.1 Tighten M10 screws -2-

- Fit air-conditioning lines.
> 9822 - Assembly tool must be used for countering.
- 10.1 Screws, M8 x 28:
> Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)
WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials- Danger of fire or explosion
- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
- 10.1 Screws, M8 x 28:
- Connect fuel line and vent line on the underbody and clip it in.
- Install vacuum line for brake booster and connect vacuum hose.
- Install brake callipers.
- Secure B+ line to the B+ box and close the cover.
> Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.) +/- 1 Nm (0.5 ftlb.)
- Fit coolant hoses at the top.
- Coolant hoses on engine
- Coolant hose for heating
- Coolant hoses on charge-air cooler
- Insert oil filler pipe.
- Connect lower vent line to the coolant reservoir.
- Guide engine wire harness through the opening in the body and connect it in the luggage compartment.

- 18.1 Lightly grease rubber sleeve and fasten in place.
- Secure DME control unit.

- Install air guide for control unit.
- 20.1 Tighten plastic nuts (M6).
> Tightening torque 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)
- 20.1 Tighten plastic nuts (M6).
- Secure spring struts in luggage compartment.
- Vehicles with particle filter:
Secure differential pressure sensor hoses -1- .
- 22.1 Push on differential pressure sensor hoses -1- and tighten spring band clamps -2- using > VAS 6890 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers .

- Fit luggage compartment trim.
> 700619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRIM PANEL FOR REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT .
- Fill the air-conditioning system.
> WM, 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT R134A or WM, 870317 DRAINING AND FILLING REFRIGERANT R1234YF
- Connect the battery.
> 2X00IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY .
- Fill up coolant.
- Bleed the cooling system.
- Check all fluid levels and seal tightness after the engine test run.
- Install rear wall cover.
- Install engine compartment lid.
- Remove protective covers.
- Boxster vehicles: Close convertible top.
- Mount rear wheels.

- Perform suspension alignment.
