Installing Motor

NOTIFICATION
Engine/transmission unit lowered or inserted incorrectly.
- Risk of damage to engine/transmission unit
- Cables and coolant hoses can be stretched and torn
- → Gradually lower or raise the engine.
- → Always check that all necessary cables were disconnected when lowering the engine/transmission unit.
- → Make sure that no cables or hoses are damaged when fitting the engine/transmission unit.
- → Get one or two more persons to help.
- Guide in engine/transmission unit roughly half way.
Check for constrictions on the air conditioning lines and oil filling hose!
Avoid contact by carefully moving the elevating platform forwards and backwards!
- 1.1 The help of a second person is required during the guiding-in process in order to prevent damage and collisions.
- Clip in shift cable -2-

or locking cable on the intake-air distributor -3-

Vehicles with manual transmission:
- Install clutch slave cylinder.
> 303019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CLUTCH SLAVE CYLINDER .
- 4.1 Tighten M8 screw.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- 4.1 Tighten M8 screw.
- Fit guide for shift linkage and exterior shift mechanism holder.
The guide can only be fitted at one position.
- 5.1 Tighten M8 collar nut.
> Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- 5.1 Tighten M8 collar nut.
- Fit shift and selector cables or locking cable (Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)) at the ball joints and then clip them onto the supports.
- Raise the engine/transmission unit to installation position and secure it.
- 7.1 Fit collar nut on the engine mount.
- 7.2 Fit screw and collar nut on the carrier side section.

- Tighten M10 screws for connecting strut on the body.
> Initial tightening 35 Nm (25.8 ftlb.)
> Final tightening + 60°
