Installing Coolant Regulator

WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- → Ensure that there is good ventilation.
- → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
- → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
Information
- Coat O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).
Information
The seal on the coolant regulator can only be replaced together with a coolant regulator, i.e. if the seal is damaged, the entire coolant regulator must be replaced.
- Check seal -2-
on the coolant regulator -1-
and replace coolant regulator if necessary.
Coolant regulator seal
Information
The sealing lip of the sealing ring in the housing must be facing you and must not be folded over. Reshape the sealing lip slightly with your finger before installing the coolant regulator.
- Check sealing ring -1-
in the housing and replace sealing ring if necessary.

Sealing lip on metal sealing ring
- Clean sealing surfaces.
- Reshape the sealing lip of the sealing ring in the housing with your finger slightly and insert coolant regulator.
- Further installation is performed in reverse order to removal.
Fastening screws securing coolant regulator to housing > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) .
