Checking The Cooling System For Leaks

WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
- → Let the fluid cool down.
- → Wear personal protective gear.
- Remove engine compartment lid.
- Check the cooling system for leaks.
- 2.1 Unscrew cap on the coolant reservoir.
- 2.2 > 9696/2 - Filling adapter must be screwed securely onto the coolant reservoir.
- 2.3 > V.A.G 1274B - Tester for Cooling System must be connected to the coolant reservoir.
- 2.4 Create a test pressure of 1.8 bar (absolute) using a pump.
- 2.5 Visually check all hose and line connections for leaks.

- Adapter with hose extension
- > 9696/2 - Filling adapter
- Release pressure on the tester .
- Filling adapter must now be screwed off.
- Carry out the required repair work to seal any leaks you find.
- Screw cap securely onto the reservoir.
