Removing Fuel Line

Toxic substances

- → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
- → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
- → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.
- → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.
- → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.
Information
- Always perform a leak test in the high-pressure area after opening the fuel system.
- This is particularly important if components are disassembled and replaced.
- The threaded connections of the fuel lines must be coated with OKS 1710 lubricant (Part No. 000.043.303.27) before being screwed back on again.
- Always allow a drying time of 60 minutes for the lubricant!
- Blow residual fuel out of the lines and high-pressure pump (into a fuel-resistant container or cloth) using compressed air before installation.
- The tightening specifications must be strictly observed.

- O-rings must always be replaced.
- O-rings must be coated lightly with Kluber Syntheso Glep.
- Remove coolant pipe -1

- 1.1 Loosen spring band clamp -2 - using > VAS 6930 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers and pull coolant hose -3 - off the heat exchanger -4 - (-arrow -).
- 1.2 Unscrew screw -5 - on the holder.
- 1.3 Pull off coolant pipe -1 - (-arrow -).
- Remove vent line -1

- 2.1 Release vent line -1 - at the oil-fill pipe -2 - and at the cylinder head cover -3 - and pull it off.
- Remove oil-fill pipe -1

- 3.1 Loosen and unscrew screws -2 and 3- .
- 3.2 Remove oil-fill pipe -1 -.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for fuel high-pressure sensor -1

- Disconnect wiring harness -1

- 5.1 Pull off clips -2 - in -direction of arrow- .
- Disconnect low-pressure fuel hose -1
- from the high-pressure pump -2

- 6.1 Loosen spring band clamp -3 - using > VAS 6930 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers and slide it upwards.
- 6.2 Pull off fuel hose -1 -.
- Loosen fuel line holder.
- 7.1 Unscrew screws -1 -.
- Remove fuel line -1

- 8.1 Loosen union nuts -2 -.
- 8.2 Guide out and remove fuel line -1 -.
