Checking Intake-Air Distributor For Leaks

  1. Secure test tool to throttle housing.
    1. 1.1 Fit rubber sleeve - - to throttle housing and secure with a screw-type clamp.
    2. 1.2 > 9264/6 - Stopper-2  - must be inserted into the rubber sleeve. Then secure with a screw-type clamp.

    1. Rubber sleeve: Original Porsche part number 966.110.686.02
    2. Special tool > 9264/6 - Stopper 
  2. Check intake-air distributor for leaks.
    1. 2.1 Connect compressed air hose with pressure gauge to the valve.
    2. 2.2 Build up overpressure of max. 0.8 bar  in the intake system!
    3. 2.3 To make it easier to find leaks (bubbles), coat accessible sealing points with commercially available leak-locating spray.

      Information 

      Leaks at more difficult-to-reach joints can be detected by obvious air-leak sounds.

    4. 2.4 Check intake-air distributor acoustically and visually for leaks.
  3. Remove test tool from throttle housing.
