Installing Oil Pan (Upper Part)

NOTIFICATION 

Dirt and contamination 

• Risk of damage to units or components 
  • → Protect components from dirt and contamination.
  • → Clean or replace dirty components.

1. Install upper part of oil pan.
   1. 1.1 Check the condition of the moulded seal and replace it if necessary.
   2. 1.2 Position upper part of oil pan.
   3. 1.3 Screw in and tighten screws -1 to 19-  .

      Observe specified tightening sequence!

   Tightening sequence for securing upper part of oil pan to crankcase

   1 - 18  Screw, M6 x 25 > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 

   19  Screw, M6 x 16 > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 

2. Install oil line.
   1. 2.1 Replace O-rings.
   2. 2.2 Fit oil line -2-  .
   3. 2.3 Screw in and tighten screws -1-  .

      > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

3. Install connector housing for oil pressure control valve.
   1. 3.1 Replace O-rings.
   2. 3.2 Push connector housing through upper part of oil pan.
   3. 3.3 Plug in cable plug -2-  .
   4. 3.4 Clip in spring clamp with heat protection -1-  .

4. Install coolant pipe.
   1. 4.1 Replace O-rings.
   2. 4.2 Fit coolant pipe -1-  .
   3. 4.3 Screw in and tighten screws -2-  .

      > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.) 

   4. 4.4 Screw in and tighten screw -3-  .

      > Tightening torque 13 Nm (9.5 ftlb.)

5. Fit heat shield -2-  and screw in and tighten screws -1-  .

   > Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
