Subsequent Work

  1. Fit rear wheel

    > 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL - article on "Installing"

    For vehicles with PCCB brake discs, use assembly aids (two assembly pins).

  2. Tighten the axle nut (securing drive shaft to wheel bearing housing). Also apply the brake (2nd mechanic required) while the vehicle is stationary on the ground. > Tightening torque 460 Nm (339.3 ftlb.) 
  3. Install covers.

    Boxster:  Install service covers in rear luggage compartment.

    > WM, 700619 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL

    Boxster Spyder:  Install rear luggage compartment trim panel

    > WM, 700619 - REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANEL

    Cayman:  Install cover over spring-strut mount.

    Install rear cover

    > Refer to the appropriate Service Information for Removing and installing rear cover - article on "Installing"

  4. Check wheel alignment values and make adjustments if necessary.

    > 449503 SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT COMPLETE - article on "Performing Suspension Alignment And Adjusting Vehicle"
