Removing Front Brake Disc: Notes
Information
- Do not open the brake hydraulic system (brake line remains connected).
- To gain better access for assembly work, it is a good idea to turn the wheels fully either to the left or right!
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1- on the speed sensor -2- .
- Follow the routing of the electric wiring harness and release it from the holder on the wheel bearing housing at all connection points.

- Remove electric plug connection for the brake pad wear indicator -1-
from the holder on the wheel bearing housing and release and disconnect it.

- Unscrew and remove fastening screw -2- for the holder on the wheel bearing housing -1- .
- Remove holder on the wheel bearing housing -1-
as far as possible.

Information
Never use power tools (impact bolter) for loosening and securing the brake calliper on the wheel bearing housing.

If the brake calliper cannot be removed easily, the brake pistons must be pressed back slightly and evenly using a suitable tool (e.g. an assembly wedge) in order to get over the edge of the brake disc. To prevent damage, do not insert hard objects between the brake pad and brake disc!
- Carefully loosen brake calliper -2-
and remove it.

- Set brake calliper down.
- 8.1 Set brake calliper down on a suitable base (e.g. universal lift). Use a suitable cloth as an intermediate layer to protect paintwork from damage.
- 8.2 When positioning the brake calliper on the base, carefully guide in the brake line and brake hose.
- Remove brake disc.
- 9.1 Secure the brake disc to prevent it from falling down.
- 9.2 Unscrew fastening screws -arrows- .
- 9.3 Remove brake disc.
