→ Only appropriately trained and authorised persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
→ Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.
→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
→ Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set when working on these components.
→ Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.
> 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Preliminary work for measurement 8
(Check: Traction line from high-voltage distributor to front power electronics)
- Remove high-voltage distributor.
> 279819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTOR - on "Removing"
- Remove high-voltage distributor mounting.
> 271719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HIGH-VOLTAGE DISTRIBUTOR MOUNTING - on "Removing"
- Unscrew, disconnect and remove traction line (high-voltage distributor to front power electronics) at the front power electronics.
Traction line from high-voltage distributor to front power electronics
- Connect traction line (from high-voltage distributor to front power electronics) to high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558A/38 - High-voltage test adapter
.
Measurement 8
- Perform measurement 8.
- 5.1 Setpoint value ≥ 1 GOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 6.1 If the measured value is within the setpoint value range, continue with measurement 8.1 .
- 6.2 If the measured value is outside of the setpoint value range, replace high-voltage line (from front power electronics and electric drive motor).
After replacing the high-voltage line, repeat measurement 6.
Preliminary work for measurement 8
(Check: Front power electronics with connected and tested traction line)
- Remove electric drive motor and front power electronics.
> 278919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC DRIVE MOTOR - on "Removing"
Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo, continue with Step 8.
For Taycan Turbo S, continue with Step 9.
- Disconnect power electronics from electric drive motor.
> 279119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT POWER ELECTRONICS FOR HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
- Remove cover for electric drive motor.
Cover for electric drive motor
- Remove 3-phase current rail (front power electronics to electric drive motor).
3-phase line power track (front power electronics to electric drive motor)
- Disconnect CAN lines from the power electronics.
Electric connectors
- 11.1 Using a small screwdriver, release the electric connectors -1- and -2- carefully (-a- ) and pull them out of the connector housing. Important: The connector holders can break easily.
All vehicles:
- Connect traction line and high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558A/38 - High-voltage measuring adapter
to the front power electronics.
Measurement 8.1
- Perform measurement 8.1.
- 13.1 Setpoint value ≥ 5 MOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 14.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, continue with measurement 8.2 .
- 14.2 If the measured value is outside
of the tolerance range, replace front power electronics.
When replacing the front power electronics, read and follow the work instructions in the Service Information.
> 27911940 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT POWER ELECTRONICS
After replacing the front power electronics, repeat measurement 6.
Preliminary work for measurement 8.2
(Check: electric drive motor)
- Place test probes on terminal shoes of the 3-phase line and measure the resistance to the electric drive motor housing.
Measure all 3-phase lines individually.
Measurement 8.2
- Perform measurement 8.2.
- 16.1 Setpoint value ≥ 5 MOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 17.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, contact Technical Support.
- 17.2 If the measured value is outside
of the tolerance range, replace electric drive motor.
When replacing the electric drive motor, read and follow the work instructions in the Service Information.
> 278919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC DRIVE MOTOR
After replacing the electric drive motor, repeat measurement 6.
