→ Only appropriately trained and authorised persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.
→ Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.
→ Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.
→ Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set when working on these components.
→ Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.
> 2X00IN GENERAL WARNING NOTES FOR WORKING ON THE HIGH-VOLTAGE SYSTEM
Preliminary work for measurement 13
(Check: New traction line)
- Order new traction line (Part No. 9J1 971 015 B) from the PET spare parts information.
- Connect high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558A/38 - HV test adapter
to new traction line.
Measurement 13
- Perform measurement 13.
- 3.1 Setpoint value ≥ 1 GOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 4.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, continue with measurement 13.1 .
- 4.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, contact Technical Support.
Preliminary work for measurement 13.1
(Check: Test rear power electronics and rear electric motor with connected and tested traction lines)
- Guide one end of the new traction line through the opening in the luggage compartment floor and connect it to the rear power electronics.
Traction line on rear power electronics
- Leave the other end of the new traction line sticking out of the opening in the luggage compartment floor.
- Connect high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558A/38 - HV test adapter
to the new traction line (rear power electronics).
Measurement 13.1
- Perform measurement 13.1.
- 8.1 Setpoint value ≥ 5 MOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 9.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, contact Technical Support.
- 9.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, continue with measurement 13.2 .
Preliminary work for measurement 13.2
(Check: Rear power electronics with connected and new tested traction line)
- Remove rear electric motor and rear power electronics.
> 279219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC MOTOR - on "Removing"
- Remove cover for rear electric motor.
Cover for electric drive motor
- Remove 3-phase line power track from rear power electronics to rear electric motor.
3-phase line power track
- Disconnect CAN lines from the power electronics.
Electric connectors
- 13.1 Using a small screwdriver, release the electric connectors -1- and -2- carefully (-a- ) and pull them out of the connector housing. Important: The connector holders can break easily.
- Connect new traction line and high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558A/38 - HV test adapter
to the rear power electronics.
Measurement 13.2
- Perform measurement 13.2.
- 15.1 Setpoint value ≥ 5 MOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 16.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, continue with measurement 13.3 .
- 16.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, replace the rear power electronics.
When replacing the rear power electronics, read and follow the work instructions in the Service Information.
> 279119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR POWER ELECTRONICS
After replacing the rear power electronics, repeat measurement 13.1.
Preliminary work for measurement 13.3
(Check: Rear electric motor)
- Place test probes on terminal shoes of the 3-phase line and measure the resistance to the electric motor housing.
Measure all 3-phase lines individually.
Measurement 13.3
- Perform measurement 13.3.
- 18.1 Setpoint value ≥ 5 MOhm
- Evaluate measured result
- 19.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, contact Technical Support.
- 19.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, replace rear electric motor.
When replacing the rear electric motor, read and follow the work instructions in the Service Information.
> 279219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ELECTRIC MOTOR
After replacing the rear electric motor, repeat measurement 13.1.
