→ Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set when working on these components.

→ Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.

Preliminary work for measurement 10

(Check: Right charging socket)

Release and disconnect high-voltage line (from high-voltage charger to right charging socket) at the high-voltage charger.

Connect charging socket test adapter VAS 6558/10-2 (DC) to the right charging socket.

The special tool number of the test adapter can differ from country to country. (VAS 6558/10-2, VAS 6558/18A, VAS 6558/13A or VAS 6558/22 )

Perform measurement 10.
1. 3.1 Setpoint value ≥ 1 GOhm
Evaluate measured result
1. 4.1 If the measured value is within the target range, continue with measurement 10.1 .
2. 4.2 If the measured value is outside the target range, replace right charging socket.
After replacing the right charging socket, repeat measurement 3.

(Check: Left charging socket)
Release and disconnect high-voltage line (from high-voltage charger to left charging socket) at the high-voltage charger.

Connect charging socket test adapter VAS 6558/10-1 (AC) to the left charging socket.

The special tool number of the test adapter can differ from country to country. (VAS 6558/10-1, VAS 6558/14A or VAS 6558/17A )

Left charging socket

Perform measurement 10.1.
1. 7.1 Setpoint value ≥ 1 GOhm
Evaluate measured result
1. 8.1 If the measured value is within the target tolerance, continue with measurement 10.2 .
2. 8.2 If the measured value is outside of the tolerance range, replace left charging socket.
After replacing the left charging socket, repeat measurement 3.

Connect high-voltage distributor line to high-voltage charger and lock.

The high-voltage lines to the left and right charging sockets must not be plugged in.
Connect high-voltage distributor line to high-voltage battery and lock.

Connect high-voltage test adapter > VAS 6558/9-6A - High-voltage test adapter to high-voltage distributor (passenger compartment heater output). Leave the second connection open.

Measurement 10.2

Pay particular attention to:

Only the high-voltage line (from high-voltage distributor to high-voltage charger) and the > VAS 6558/9-6A - high-voltage test adapter may be connected to the high-voltage distributor. All other high-voltage connections on the high-voltage distributor must be disconnected and unoccupied.

The high-voltage lines to the left and right charging sockets must not be plugged in.
Perform measurement 10.2.
Setpoint value ≥ 1.1 MOhm
1. 12.1
Evaluate measured result
1. 13.1 If the measured value is within the tolerance range, contact Technical Support.
2. 13.2 If the measured value is outside of the setpoint value range, replace high-voltage charger.

After replacing the high-voltage charger, repeat measurement 3.
