Removing Directional-Control Valve (MVW1)

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components 
  • Electric shock 
  • Short circuit 
  • Fire 
  • Explosion 

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons are permitted to work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, e.g. > VAS 6883 - Insulated Tool Set  when working on these components.

    → Observe general warning notes for working on the high-voltage system.

Information 

Electric contacts must never come into contact with coolant.

  1. Remove directional-control valve (MVW1) -1-  .
    1. 1.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2-  .
    2. 1.2 Loosen spring band clamps -3-  using > VAS 6891 - Spring Band Clamp Pliers  .
    3. 1.3 Pull off hoses -4-  .
    4. 1.4 Catch escaping coolant and close off line connections using suitable stoppers.
    5. 1.5 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -5-  .
    6. 1.6 Remove directional-control valve (MVW1) -1-  .
