Friction element welding is used on the multi-material bodyshell to join ultra-high-strength steel to aluminium components. There are different types of friction elements - standard friction elements and countersunk head friction elements. This document describes the various options for replacing all friction element welded joints. The procedure to be used is specified at the relevant points in the Bodyshell Workshop Service Information.
