Installing Rear Longitudinal Member And Front Longitudinal Member (Closing Element)

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Secure rear side member and front side member (closing element) and check that they fit perfectly.
2. Remove rear side member and front side member (closing element).

   Information 

   • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 
3. Apply adhesive on bonding areas of body.

   > Application depth 0.5 mm

   1. 5.1 Apply adhesive to marked areas.

      > Application depth 0.5 mm 

   2. 5.2 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

      > Application depth 3 mm

   Information 

   • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 
   1. 6.1 Apply adhesive -A-  and -B-  on front longitudinal member (closing element).

      > Application depth 0.5 mm 

   2. 6.2 Also apply a bead of adhesive -A-  all around the bonding surface -B-  .

      > Application depth 3 mm 

7. Position rear side member together with front side member (closing element) and secure.
8. Secure the rear longitudinal member.

   1. 8.1 Rivet in rear side member.

      -A-  , -B-  and -C-  > BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01 

   2. 8.2 Screw in self-tapping screws.

9. Secure rear side member and front side member (closing element).
