Repairing Side Member Reinforcement

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Position repair boot -1-  centrally over the damaged area and secure.

2. Drill holes for blind rivets through both components using a > diameter 6.6 mm

3. Remove repair boot.
4. Prepare marked area for the side member reinforcement for bonding and riveting.

5. Prepare marked area for the repair boot for bonding and riveting.

   • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 
6. Apply adhesive to marked area for the side member reinforcement.

   > Application depth 0.5 mm

   • Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 
7. Apply adhesive on the marked area for the repair boot.

   1. 7.1  Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

8. Rivet in repair boot.
