Removing B-Pillar

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Mark cuts A, B, C, D and E  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 30 mm with respect to the body.

1. Mark and make cuts. Note different dimensions in Saloon and Cross Turismo  .

   Dimension A only Saloon  > Distance 275 mm 

   Dimension A only for Cross Turismo  > Distance 265 mm 

   Dimension B only Saloon  > Distance 525 mm 

   Dimension B only Cross Turismo  > Distance 670 mm 

   Dimension C applies to all vehicles.  > Distance 30 mm

2. Unscrew self-tapping screws -1-  .

3. Loosen folded edges in the marked areas in the door apertures.

   1. 3.1  Heat bonding areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .
   2. 3.2  Bend up folded edges in the front and rear door aperture using > VAS 6635 - crimping pliers set, 4-piece  .
4. Heat bonding areas in the marked areas using > V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .
