Preliminary Work
Information
The following basic requirements must be observed:
- Calibration must only be performed on an empty vehicle on a level surface.
- Vehicles with adjustable chassis: Set the chassis to "normal" (medium height).
- Vehicles with front axle lift system: Set the front axle lift system to "lower".
- The doors and tailgate must be closed.
- The side mirrors must be folded out fully.
- The trailer hitch must be removed/retracted.
- The work area must be illuminated uniformly.
- Luminous intensity must be at least 400 lux.
Information
Calibrating the reversing camera balances the tires, chassis tolerances and installation tolerances of the camera.
- The > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit and a > VAS 6350/2A - Spacing laser are needed for calibration.
- During calibration, the control unit for the reversing camera calculates the vehicle-specific adjustment values (e.g. image rectification) for the camera image.
- After the actual calibration process, the rectified image can be seen on the vehicle display.
- Fit reflectors on wheel nut support:
- 1.1
Fit the wheel nut support with the right and left reflector on both rear wheels on the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit
. The reflectors must be hanging freely.
Fitting reflectors (shown as an example)
- 1.1
Fit the wheel nut support with the right and left reflector on both rear wheels on the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit
. The reflectors must be hanging freely.
- Park the vehicle on a level surface and set up the > VAS 6350A - Calibration unit
so that it is positioned parallel and symmetrically behind the vehicle in accordance with the operating instructions for VAS 6350.
