Installing Rear Wheel Housing (Outer) (Front Section)

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.

• Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 

1. Apply adhesive to bonding area -LHD vehicle -  and -RHD vehicle -  of the body.

   >Application depth 0.5 mm

2. Apply adhesive to (outer) rear wheel housing (front section) in bonding areas -LHD vehicle -  .

   Joints

   JOINT AREA DESCRIPTION 

   1	Tighten self-tapping screw.
   2	Apply a full steel weld.

6. Centre catch bar -1-  through rear side panel with wheel housing reinforcement -2-  and tighten screws -3-  hand-tight.

7. Fit in rear side panel and secure to the body.
8. Drill holes for rivets as a positioning aid using >diameter 4.0 mm  .

   Positioning holes

   1. 8.1 Countersink holes using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink  .
9. Remove rear side panel.
10. Unscrew screws -3-  and remove catch bar -1-  and wheel housing reinforcement -2-  from rear side panel.

11. Apply adhesive to (outer) rear wheel housing (front section) in the marked bonding area.
