Removing Longitudinal Member Reinforcement

  1. Loosen joints.

    Joint connections

    1. 1.1 Remove punch rivets -A-  using >VAS 852 001 - dent removal unit  and >VAS 6790 - compact booster  .

      > 5X00IN23 REPLACING PUNCH RIVETS AND PENETRATED JOINTS

      Information 

      Only drill hole through the top sheet-metal panel. Do not damage the sheet-metal panel underneath.

    2. 1.2 Drill out spotwelds -B-  using >VAS 882 001 - spot-weld breaker  .
    3. 1.3 Unscrew self-tapping screws.
  2. Heat bonding areas using >V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

  3. Remove reinforcement for longitudinal member.
