Preparing Rear Longitudinal Member For Installation
- Position rear longitudinal member -1-
together with front longitudinal member (closing element) -2-
and secure to the body.
Positioning components
- Prepare joints for rear longitudinal member.
Joints
- 2.1 Drill bore holes -LHD vehicle - for blind rivets through both sheetmetal plates using >diameter 6.6 mm .
- 2.2 Measure bore hole -RHD vehicle - for blind rivets with distance -A- >Distance 31 mm and distance -b- >Distance 24 mm and drill through both sheetmetal plates using >diameter 6.6 mm .
- 2.3 Measure bore hole -Item C- for blind rivets with distance -c- >Distance 63 mm , mark it and drill through both sheetmetal plates using >diameter 6.6 mm .
- Prepare rear longitudinal member together with front longitudinal member (closing element) for joining.
Joint connections
- 3.1 Drill bore holes for blind rivets -LHD vehicle - and -RHD vehicle - using >diameter 6.6. mm
- 3.2 Drill holes for countersunk blind rivets -Item C- through both sheet metal panels with >diameter 6.5 mm .
- 3.3 Counterbore the rivet holes -Item C- using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink .
- Drilling bore holes>VAS 6956A - Angle drill
Countersunk rivets
- 4.1 Drill bore holes for countersunk blind rivets through both sheetmetal panels with >diameter 6.5 mm .
- 4.2 Counterbore the rivet holes with >VAS 6957 - 100°countersink .
