Preparing Closing Cross Member For Installation
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Fit in closing cross member and secure it to the body.
- Prepare joints for closing cross member.

Joints
- 2.1 Drill bore for blind rivet (countersunk head) through both panels using >diameter 6.5 mm .
- 2.2 Make counterbore at the rivet hole using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink .
- Remove closing cross member.
- Prepare closing cross member for bonding and riveting.
