Preparing Closing Cross Member For Installation

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Fit in closing cross member and secure it to the body.
2. Prepare joints for closing cross member.

   Joints

   1. 2.1 Drill bore for blind rivet (countersunk head) through both panels using >diameter 6.5 mm  .
   2. 2.2 Make counterbore at the rivet hole using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink  .
3. Remove closing cross member.
4. Prepare closing cross member for bonding and riveting.
