Preparing Rear Closing Panel For Installation
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Fit in rear closing panel and secure it to the body.
- Prepare connection points for rear closing panel.

Blind rivets
- 2.1 Drill bore holes for blind rivets -A- through both sheet metal plates using>diameter 6.6 mm .
- 2.2 Drill bore for blind rivet (countersunk head) -B- through both sheet-metal panels using >diameter 6.5 mm .
- 2.3 Make counterbore at the rivet hole -B- using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink .
- Preparing rear closing panel joints.

Information
Countersunk head of the flow-form rivets must be pointing outwards. Observe the required punch and joining direction.

- Remove rear closing panel.
- Prepare rear closing panel for bonding and riveting.
