Installing Roof Pillar (Outer Reinforcement)

Information 

• Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. 

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Install roof pillar (outer reinforcement) and check that it fits perfectly.
2. Apply adhesive on bonding areas -A -  and -B -  of the body.

   >Application depth 0.5 mm

3. Apply body foam filler to the baffle plate.

4. Apply adhesive to the bonding area -A -  and -B -  of the roof pillar (outer reinforcement).

   >Application depth 0.5 mm

   Bonding area

   1. 4.1 Also apply a bead of adhesive all around the bonding surface.

      >Application depth 3 mm 

5. Secure roof pillar (outer reinforcement).

   Joints

   1. 5.1 Rivet in roof pillar (outer reinforcement).

      -A -  >BLIND RIVET 999.190.229.01 

   2. 5.2 Resistance spot-weld the roof pillar (outer reinforcement) -B -  .
6. Resistance spot-weld the roof pillar (outer reinforcement).
