Removing Outer Roof Pillar

Information 

Only make cuts in the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this.

Information 

Mark cut A  in accordance with the new part. Make sure to leave an overlap of approx. 30 mm with respect to the body.

Make cut in accordance with the extent of the damage.

1. Mark and make cut -A-  . >Dimension 10 mm

4. Loosen seams in the door aperture at the front and rear.

   Seam areas

   1. 4.1 Heat the marked bonding areas using >V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .
   2. 4.2 Bend up edges in door aperture using >VAS 6635 - Crimping pliers set, 4-piece  .
5. Loosen outer roof pillar.

   Rivet area

   1. 5.1 Remove punch rivets -A-  using >VAS 6790 - Compact Booster  .
   2. 5.2 Loosen friction element welded joints -B-  .

      > 5X00IN29 REPLACING FRICTION ELEMENT WELDED JOINT

   3. 5.3 Drill out penetrated joint -C-  using >diameter 4.4 mm  .
6. Heat bonding areas using >V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  .
