Removing Roof

Information 

Adhesive tape serves as cut line.

Information 

• Only cut through the top plate. Make sure not to damage the plate underneath when doing this. 

Information 

During separation make sure that the components beneath are not damaged.

The help of another person is required.

1. Remove punch rivets using >VAS 6790 - compact booster  .

   > 5X00IN23 REPLACING PUNCH RIVETS AND PENETRATED JOINTS

2. Bend up seams -1-  using >VAS 6635 - 4-piece crimping pliers set  .

3. Stick on adhesive tape -1-  along the edge of the roof on both sides at dimension -X -  . >Distance 5 mm + 2 mm

4. Make cut on both sides.
5. Heat bonding areas using >V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

6. Remove the roof.
7. Remove remaining pieces of roof.

   Remaining pieces of roof

   1. 7.1 Grind off remaining pieces of roof from the side panels.
   2. 7.2 Remove remaining pieces of roof.
