Removing Front Side Member (Front Section)

Information 

Since the replacement side member section has a tolerance of ± 1.5 mm in length, the cut on the vehicle may have to be adjusted.

  1. Unscrew self-tapping screw -1-  .

  2. Mark and make cut -A -  >Distance 326 mm .

  3. Grind down welded seams.

  4. Loosen front side member (front section).

    1. 4.1 Unscrew self-tapping screws -1-  .
    2. 4.2. Remove punch rivets using >VAS 852 001 - body dent removal system, aluminum  and >VAS 6790 - compact booster  .

      > 5X00IN23 REPLACING PUNCH RIVETS AND PENETRATED JOINTS

  5. Heat bonding areas using >V.A.G 1416 - hot-air blower  .

  6. Remove front side member (front section).
