Installing Rear Window

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following boundary conditions must be adhered to: 
  • The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed. 
  • Curing time: 2 hours 
  • Temperature: at least 10 °C 
  • Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

  1. > V.A.G 1344 - Suction lifter  must be attached to the outside of the rear window.

    > WM, 6X00IN22 USING PORSCHE 2-COMPONENT WINDOW ADHESIVE

  2. Apply adhesive on the rear window.

    Rear window

    1. 2.1 For new rear windows:  Apply Porsche 2-component window adhesive along the prepared area on the primer on the rear window as a triangular bead of adhesive measuring -X = approx. 15 mm-  .
    2. 2.2 For old rear windows on which adhesive has already been applied:  Apply Porsche 2-component window adhesive on the old worn bead of adhesive as a triangular bead of adhesive measuring -X = approx. 15 mm-  .

    Information 

    • A helper is required to insert and align the rear window pane! 
  3. Insert rear window -1-  into the body.

    Rear window

    1. 3.1 Guide rear window -1-  into the body aperture.
    2. 3.2 Position rear window -1-  on the lower edge -arrows A-  and fit it -arrow B-  .
  4. Adjust rear window according to gap dimensions.

    > WM, 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS

  5. Secure rear window -1-  with suitable adhesive tape -2-  to prevent it from slipping.

    Fixing

  6. Remove suction cups > V.A.G 1344 - Suction lifter  .
  7. Clean visible area.
    1. 7.1 Remove any adhesive that has oozed out immediately and clean the affected visible area using cleaning agent.
