Installing Front Lock Lower Part
WARNING:
Incorrect handling of safety bolts
- Danger of injury
- Loss of torque
→ Always use new fastening screws and nuts following removal.
→ Observe specified tightening torques.
→ Carry out a visual inspection of all re-used parts.
Information
When working close to the front apron and on the various parts of the lock, carry out the following function test before closing the lid:
- Check whether the electric plug connection is connected.
- Lock lower part of front lock using a screwdriver.
- Release lower part of front lock using the actuator in the passenger compartment.
- Perform a visual inspection to check that the lower part of the lock unlocks correctly.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:
Tighten screws to >Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) .
