Adjusting Rear Lid

Information 

• Adjust gap dimensions on lid and add-on parts in accordance with gap specifications. 
• If the clearance in the opening is too great or too small, accessories must be centred with respect to the body. 
• Ensure that the gaps do not run in a wedge-shaped fashion or do not narrow at local points. 
• The specified values are guidelines, which should be observed as far as possible. 
• The guidelines apply to repair work and assembly work. 
• Use star gauges to check the gap dimensions  . >VAS 6937 - Adjusting gauge 

1. Check gap dimensions.

   > 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS

2. Loosen nuts -2-  so that the rear lid -1-  can still be moved.

3. Adjust the rear lid -1-  by moving the lid -Arrows-  and ensure that the gap between the lid and rear window is parallel.

4. Tighten nuts to >Tightening torque 20 (15 ftlb.) Nm  .
5. Check gap dimensions and make adjustments if necessary.
