Preparing Front Side Member (Front Section) For Installation

The threaded bolt must only be offset on the left side.
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Position front side member (front section) using the straightening bracket.
- Move threaded bolt -1-
to the rear.
Threaded bolt
- 2.1 Remove threaded bolt -1- .
- 2.2. Offset the position of the threaded bolt -1- by -dimension A- >Distance 15 mm to the rear and mark it.
- 2.3. Fit new threaded bolt >WELDING BOLT 9A7.004.062.00 .
- Drill bore holes for self-tapping screws -1-
through both sheetmetal plates using >diameter 4.7 mm

Outer bores
- Drill bore holes for self-tapping screws -1-
through both sheetmetal plates using >diameter 4.7 mm

Inner bores
- Drill bore holes for blind rivets through both sheet metal plates using >diameter 6.6 mm

Blind rivets, centre
- Prepare joints at the front.
Front joints
- 6.1 Drill bore holes for blind rivets -A- using a drill bit with a diameter of >diameter 6.6 mm .
- 6.2. Drill bore hole for countersunk blind rivet -B- using a drill bit with a diameter of >diameter 6.5 mm .
- 6.3. Make counterbore at the rivet hole -B- using >VAS 6957 - 100° countersink .
- Remove front side member (front section).
- Prepare front side member (front section) for bonding and riveting.
