Removing Wiper Arm

WARNING: Electrically moved components

Danger of limbs being trapped or severed
- Switch off electric power to drive motor.
- Make sure it does not switch on again.
- Check that there is no electric charge.

- Switch off ignition and keep transmitter key outside of the transmission range (at least 5 m).
- Switch off electrical loads before disconnecting or removing them.

Information

To counteract the deformation of the wiper rubber that occurs when it is at rest, the wiper arm is alternately moved to two different parked positions. However, the wiper arm may only be removed and installed in the lower parked position. Before removing or installing the wiper arm, operate the wiper once and watch whether the wiper is moved up again slightly into the upper parked position after it has reached the lower parked position. In this case, operate the wiper again so that the wipe am is moved into the lower parked position.

Open the front lid.
Remove caps -1- using a suitable tool.

Screw off nut -1- .

Wiper arms
Pull wiper arms up and off.
Use special tool > VAS 6935 - Pole terminal puller if necessary.
