Loosening Main Wire Harness In Luggage Compartment (Rear)

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Release and disconnect electric plug connections for airbag sensor on left C-pillar.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on rear left shock absorber.

Release and disconnect electric plug connections on DME control unit.
> Refer to the appropriate service information.
Disconnect main wire harness in luggage compartment, rear left -1- .

1. 5.1 Unclip cable duct -2- (-arrow- ).
2. 5.2 Unscrew and remove screws -3- .
3. 5.3 Unclip clip -4- .
4. 5.4 Unscrew nuts on ground points at left C-pillar -5- .
Release and disconnect electric plug connections for tailgate control unit.
> 556819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TAILGATE CONTROL UNIT
Release and disconnect electric plug connection for acoustic simulator control unit.
> Refer to the appropriate service information.
Remove control unit for chassis control.
> 431619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CONTROL UNIT FOR CHASSIS CONTROL
Release and disconnect electric plug connections on subwoofer.
> 913619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BOSE SUBWOOFER

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for rear KESSY/PAS antenna.

Unclip connection point holder for lock carrier -1- and clips -2- .

Release and disconnect electric plug connection on rear right shock absorber.

Loosen rear fuse box.
> 978409 LOOSENING AND SECURING REAR FUSE BOX
Disconnect main wire harness in rear right of luggage compartment -1- .

1. 21.1 Unclip cable duct -2- (-arrow A- ).
2. 21.2 Unscrew nuts on ground points at right C-pillar -3- .
3. 21.3 Unclip rear right connection points holder -4- (-arrow B- ).
4. 21.4 Unclip clips -5- .
Release and disconnect electric plug connections for airbag sensor on right C-pillar.
