Removing Steering Column

Loosen universal joint -2-.
1. 1.1 Unscrew and remove screw -3- .
2. 1.2 Pull universal joint -2- off the steering column.

Unscrewing screw
Only for vehicles with electric steering column adjustment (ELV) (I-no. 2C4):
Release and disconnect electric plug connection on control unit for electric steering column adjustment.

Unscrew nuts -4 to 7-.

Unscrewing nuts
Lower the steering column -8- as far as required until the electric plug connection is accessible.

Lowering steering column
Release and disconnect electric plug connection -9- on ELV control unit.

Remove steering column.
