Wrap-Up Work

WARNING: Leaking fuel supply lines 
  • Emerging fuel 
  • Risk of fire 

    → Perform leak test.

NOTE: Incorrect handling of pipe and line connections 
  • Risk of damage to components 
  • Leaks 

    → Do not put too much pressure on pipe and line connections.

    → Always counter the lines when loosening and fastening them.

Information 

  1. Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Observe drying time of at least 5 minutes before fitting.

    Information 

    Removal shown at the right on high-pressure pump to rail.

  2. Secure fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail) -1-  .

    > WM, 249019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FUEL LINE (HIGH-PRESSURE, RIGHT) (V6 TURBO) 

    1. 2.1 Align fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail) -1-  correctly.
    2. 2.2 Screw in union nut -2-  on fuel collection pipe by hand and tighten using > V.A.G 1331/6 - open end spanner insert, a/f 17  > tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)  and > Torque angle 60° 
    3. 2.3 Only at the right on high-pressure pump to rail: 

      Screw in union nut -3-  on high-pressure pump by hand and tighten using > V.A.G 1331/6 - open end spanner insert, a/f 17  > tightening torque of 10 Nm (7.4 ftlb.)  and > Torque angle 60°

      Fuel line (high-pressure pump to rail)

  3. Install ignition coils.

    > WM, 282020 REMOVING AND INSTALLING IGNITION COILS (V6)
