Removing Primary Catalytic Converter

CAUTION: Hot components

→ Let hot components cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

Loosen V-band clamp -1- .
1. 1.1 Loosen screw -2- and relieve tension on V-band clamp -1- .
2. 1.2 Loosen V-band clamp -1- from the turbocharger/catalytic converter flange using a hammer and wedge.

Unscrew oxygen sensors downstream of catalytic converter -1 and 2- .

Oxygen sensors downstream of catalytic converter
Loosen catalytic converter flange.
1. 3.1 Spray nuts -1- with anti-rust agent if necessary and leave it to take effect.
2. 3.2 Loosen and unscrew nuts -1- .

Catalytic converter flange
From model year 2019
Remove V-band clamp -2- .
1. 4.1 Loosen screw -1- and loosen and remove V-band clamp -2- from the flange.

Loosen primary catalytic converter -1- at holder -3- and remove it.
1. 5.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2- .
2. 5.2 Remove primary catalytic converter -1- .
