Checking Cylinder Head For Distortion, Extent Of Rework And Sealant Application

1. Check cylinder head for distortion using a commercially available straight-edge -1-  and feeler gauge.

   > Control value 0.1 mm

2. Reworking of the cylinder head (grinding down) is only permitted as far as the minimum dimension -a-  .

   > Control value 138 mm +/- 0.1 mm

3. Applying sealant on cylinder bank 1 and cylinder bank 2
   1. 3.1 Apply beads of sealant -1, 2- as shown to the clean sealing surfaces of the cylinder block and lower timing chain cover.
   2. 3.2 Sealant bead thickness: 2 mm.
