Removing Coolant Temperature Sensor (Radiator Outlet)

WARNING: Hot fluid 
  • Danger of scalding 

    → Avoid contact with hot fluid.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

Information 

When the engine is cold, the cap on the coolant reservoir can be opened briefly in order to release residual pressure in the cooling system.

  1. Biturbo only:  Disconnect pressure hose on charge-air cooler -1-  .
    1. 1.1 Loosen screw-type clamp -2-  .
    2. 1.2 Pull out pressure hose for charge-air cooler -1-  and press it aside.

  2. Release and unplug electric plug connection -1-  .

    Information 

    Re-install coolant temperature sensor (radiator outlet) as quickly as possible or close it off using a suitable stopper to prevent unnecessary coolant loss.

  3. Remove coolant temperature sensor (radiator outlet) -1-  .
    1. 3.1 Pull off clamp -2-  .
    2. 3.2 Place cloths underneath.
    3. 3.3 Remove coolant temperature sensor (radiator outlet) -1-  .
