Preliminary Work

  1. Switch ignition off and remove ignition key.
  2. Remove strut.

    > WM, 408519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SPRING STRUT

  3. Remove engine cover (design cover).

    > WM, 108319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ENGINE COVER (DESIGN COVER) (V6 TURBO)

    Only for ignition coil for cylinders 2 and 3: 

  4. Unscrew screw -2-  on the torque support bracket -4-  and swivel torque support -1-  upwards -arrow-  .

  5. Disconnect ground cable -1-  on the right spring strut dome.
    1. 5.1 Unscrew screw -2-  and route cable to the front (in direction of travel).

  6. Unclip B+ cable -1-  on the right spring strut dome -Arrows-  .

  7. For vehicles with particle filter:  Release differential pressure line on torque support bracket:
    1. 7.1 Loosen and unscrew screw -1-  .

  8. Remove bracket for torque support -1-  .
    1. 8.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3-  .
    2. 8.2 Press B+ cable down, guide out bracket -1-  under the fuel line and guide it carefully past the spring strut dome in direction of travel.
