Removing Turbocharger

NOTE: Dirt and contamination 
  • Risk of damage to units or components 

    → Protect components from dirt and contamination.

    → Clean or replace dirty components.

Information 

  1. Disconnect line connections and electric plug connection.
    1. 1.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  for recirculating air valve.
    2. 1.2 Pull off vacuum line -4-  at the vacuum unit -3-  and set it aside.
    3. 1.3 Remove coolant lines. To do this, unscrew fastening screws -1-  and pull lines up and off.

  2. Disconnect line connections.
    1. 2.1 Loosen oil supply line -3-  . To do this, unscrew fastening screw -2-  and pull line off the turbocharger.
    2. 2.2 Close off line connections with stoppers.
    3. 2.3 Remove V-band clamp on catalytic converter.
      1. 2.3.1 Loosen fastening screw -4-  and release V-band clamp.
      2. 2.3.2 Carefully loosen V-band clamp from the turbocharger flange -1-  using a hammer and wedge.

  3. Remove active carbon filter line -2-  . To do this, unscrew fastening screw -1-  , pull off line -2-  and set it aside.

    Turbocharger at the side

  4. Remove turbocharger.
    1. 4.1 Unscrew fastening nuts and studs -1-  for the exhaust pipes and loosen V-band clamp -4-  on the exhaust pipe.
    2. 4.2 Guide turbocharger and exhaust pipe -2-  out of the clamps -3-  and remove them in an upward direction.
