Removing Brake Fluid Reservoir

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Have suitable stoppers ready for closing off connection openings on the brake fluid reservoir and brake master cylinder.
  2. Place suitable material underneath for collecting emerging brake fluid.
  3. Expose brake fluid reservoir.
    1. 3.1 Release and disconnect return line -1-  from reservoir.
      1. 3.1.1 Close off connection opening on the reservoir using suitable stoppers.

      Information 

      Brake fluid - even thinned brake fluid - causes corrosion on electric contacts, thereby impairing functions.

    2. 3.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -2-  and protect it from brake fluid and other contaminants using appropriate means.

    Brake fluid reservoir connections

  4. Remove brake fluid reservoir -1-  .
    1. 4.1 Unscrew and remove screw -2-  .
    2. 4.2 Pull brake fluid reservoir -1-  off the brake master cylinder.
      1. 4.2.1 Close off connection openings on the brake fluid reservoir -1-  and brake master cylinder using suitable stoppers.
