Removing Charging Socket

WARNING: Incorrect handling of high-voltage components 
  • Electric shock 
  • Short circuit 
  • Fire 
  • Explosion 

    → Only appropriately trained and authorized persons may work on high-voltage vehicles and components.

    → Required qualification: High voltage technician or high voltage expert.

    → Observe national requirements and legislation for this work.

    → Always use insulated tools, such as an > VAS 6883 - insulated tool set  when working on these parts.

    → Observe general warning notices for working on the high-voltage system.

  1. Release and unplug electric plug connection -1-  .

  2. Disconnect ground line -1-  from the body.
    1. 2.1 Unscrew fastening screw -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Move ground line -1-  aside.

  3. Cut tie-wrap -1-  and pull water drain -2-  off the charging socket.

  4. Press grommet -1-  out of the wheel housing using a suitable tool.

    Sleeve

  5. Release and disconnect connector for loudspeaker.
  6. Guide electric lines out of the passenger compartment into the wheel housing.
  7. Unscrew fastening screws -1-  and pull charging socket -2-  down out of the fuel tank well.
