Replacing The Battery
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding
→ Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
→ Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
→ Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.

If the Gateway control unit is programmed, ensure a charging voltage of 14.0 - 14.2 V at the Gateway control unit. Adjust the battery charger's voltage if necessary. When programming is complete, reset the battery charger's voltage.

The AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery is a maintenance-free, sealed battery.
Serial number and part number on battery
- The AGM battery must not be opened. If the AGM battery is opened, it must be replaced.
- A serial number -A- and part number -B- is shown on the AGM battery.
- The serial number, part number, battery capacity and battery manufacturer must be written to the gateway control unit following replacement of the AGM battery.
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if necessary.
- Select the Gateway control unit in the Overview. Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Select Maintenance/repairs.
- Battery replacement
must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
Follow the instructions on the tester.
- Enter the battery capacity.
- Enter the type of battery (e.g. AGM).
- Enter the battery manufacturer (first 3 letters) of the battery.
- Enter the serial number (last 10 digits) of the battery.
- Press F8 to write values.
- Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary.
- Exit the diagnostic application. → Switch off ignition. Disconnect the tester.
