Checking Fuel Pressure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. > 9900 - PIWIS tester 3  must be connected and switched on.
  2. Switch on ignition (fuel pump is activated briefly).
  3. Perform fuel pressure test using > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3  .
    1. 3.1 Select the Diagnostics  function.
    2. 3.2 Select the DME  control unit in the control unit overview.
    3. 3.3 Switch to the Drive links/checks  menu item.
    4. 3.4 Select the Drain fuel tank  function and press F12 = Next.
    5. 3.5 Activate the Drain fuel tank  (= activate fuel pump) function by pressing F8 = Start. The process can be ended at any time by pressing F8 = Stop.
    6. 3.6 Read off the pressure shown on the pressure gauge.

      Check fuel pressure: 

      > Fuel pressure 6.5 bar +/- 0.2 bar 

    7. 3.7 Deactivate the Drain fuel tank  function by pressing F8 = Stop.
      1. 3.7.1 Exit the function.
    8. 3.8 Switch off ignition, switch off > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3  and disconnect adapter line in the vehicle.
    9. 3.9 Perform holding pressure test. 
      1. 3.9.1 System pressure must only drop by max. 1 bar after 30 minutes. 

        > Pressure 5.5 bar +/- 0.2 bar
