Removing Fuel Line (From Connection In Front Wheel Housing To Rear Underbody)

WARNING: Flammable or explosive materials

Danger of fire or explosion
1. → Disconnect the battery.
2. → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.
3. → Use suction to remove ignitable vapours.
4. → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

Danger of burns to the eyes and skin
1. → Wear personal protective gear
2. → Ventilate the work area well.
3. → Never ingest or inhale.
4. → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.
5. → Do not smoke, eat or d. ink in the work area.

Information

Escaping fuel must be soaked up using suitable binding material.
The fuel system must be depressurised before starting work on it.
Only work on the fuel system in well-ventilated rooms.
Any seals that were removed must always be replaced.
Never use sealant containing silicone or silicone spray when the injection system is open. Traces of silicone drawn in by the engine are not combusted and damage the oxygen sensors.

Information

Plastic lines must not be kinked or bent as this can make them brittle and start to leak.

Remove cover on fuel line in wheel housing -1- .

1. 1.1 Unscrew and remove screws -2- .
2. 1.2 Remove cover on fuel line in the wheel housing -1- .
Remove stone guard -1- .

Stone guard
1. 2.1 Unscrew screws -2- and remove right holder -3- .
2. 2.2 Unscrew nuts -4- .
3. 2.3 Remove stone guard -1- .
Remove fuel line -1- from fuel line at connection in front wheel housing.

Fuel line on fuel line in front wheel housing
1. 3.1 Unclip fuel line at connection in front wheel housing from retaining clip -2- .
2. 3.2 Loosen spring band clamp -3- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers and disconnect fuel line -1- from fuel line at connection in front wheel housing
3. 3.3 Open line bracket for fuel line -4- on the underbody and in the wheel housing and unclip fuel line -1- .
Remove fuel line -1- from fuel pump for auxiliary heater -2- .

1. 4.1 Loosen spring band clamp -3- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers and disconnect fuel line -1- from fuel pump for auxiliary heater -2- .
2. 4.2 Remove fuel line -1- .
