Installing Heater
Information
- There is no guarantee that re-used clamps will secure the component properly.
- Removed clamps must be replaced.
- Always use new clamps during installation.
- Connect electric plug connections -1-
until they engage securely.
Electric plug connections on heater
- Place heater in position.
Installing heater
- 2.1 Position rubber sleeve -1- on the retaining pin -2- .
- 2.2 Engage clip -3- on the holder into the cut-out -4- .
- Fit screws for heater holder -1-
by hand.
Mounting for heater
- Position flexi-pipe for silencer -1-

Flexi-pipe on silencer
- 4.1 Push flexi-pipe for silencer -1- with screw-type clamp -2- onto the exhaust pipe.
- 4.2
Tighten screws on heater holder.
- Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)
- 4.3
Tighten screw-type clamp -2-
.
- Tightening torque 4 Nm (3 ftlb.)
- Secure coolant hoses -1-
.
Coolant hoses
- 5.1 Push coolant hoses -1- onto the coolant pipes.
- 5.2 Fasten spring band clamps -2- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers .
- 5.3 > 3094 - Hose clamp must be removed from the coolant hoses -1- .
- Clip electric line -1-
onto the coolant hose -2-
at the marked positions -Arrows-

- Connect electric plug connection -1-
to the circulating pump -2-
until it engages securely.

- Clip electric line -1-
into holder -2-
at position -Arrow-

Electric line on holder
- Secure the fuel line -1-
on the heater.
Fuel line
- 9.1 Push on fuel line -1- as far as it will go - ensure a minimum overlap of 25 mm.
- 9.2 Fasten spring band clamp -2- using > VAS 6890 - spring band clamp pliers .
- Pre-fill the fuel system:
- 10.1 Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle.
- 10.2 Select the Auxiliary heating control unit in the control unit overview.
- 10.3 Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
- 10.4 Line filling must now be selected. Then press Next.
