Replacing Hydraulic Unit/PSM Control Unit

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester  .

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type if required.
  3. Select the PSM  control unit in the overview  . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
  4. Coding/programming  must be selected.
  5. Automatic coding  must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
    1. 5.1 The Tester displays the message: Coding was completed successfully.
  6. Maintenance/repairs  must now be selected.
  7. Select PSM sensor calibration  .
    1. 7.1 Select Calibrate axial-acceleration sensor  . Press F12 to continue.
      1. 7.1.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
      2. 7.1.2 Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
    2. 7.2 Select Calibrate lateral-acceleration sensor  . Press F12 to continue.
      1. 7.2.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
      2. 7.2.2 Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
    3. 7.3 Select Pressure sensor calibration  . Press F12 to continue.
      1. 7.3.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
      2. 7.3.2 Perform calibration according to menu guidance.
  8. Read out the fault memory  and erase it if necessary.
  9. Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
